How I did it: When first arriving to D.C., a woman was telling me that one of the things she was looking forward to doing was kayaking on the Potomac River, the same river that 1st U.S. President George Washington relied on for his livelihood and transportation. So today I went to Georgetown and came across the Thompson Boat Center, a place where you can rent kayaks and canoes. I rented a kayak for an hour, and kayaking was actually very easy! It was so much fun to try something new and get away from the sounds of the city. Am looking forward to doing this again, but maybe race someone next time... that is, once my arms feel better.
