How to move to Paris
How I did it: I researched apartment listings through on-line agencies that I felt were reputable (Lodgis) and finally selected one within my budget that was located in a neighborhood that I like and that I know is always busy with people (Montmartre). Once I had my apartment set up I bought a plane ticket and packed my bags. It was really just a matter of finding a place to live that I knew I would enjoy and feel safe in. Oh, yeah, let's not forget the saving up part. I had to save every penny possible so that I could afford it and not feel like I was going to be struggling the whole time I was there.
Lessons & tips: Know the neighborhoods, and bring a really great map book, because I can't tell you how great it was to know how to get to certain places. Also, look like a Parisian as much as possible. The less you look like a tourist, the less you'll be bothered.
Resources: Internet searches for apartments, books and biographies on living in France, Meet-up.com where I met some really great people living there.
