How to wake up when my alarm clock goes off
How I did it: This goal was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. I just had to follow a few simple steps.
1. Please your alarm clock on the opposite side of the room. This forces you to get up to turn it off. A cell phone with an alarm function makes this easy.
If you have a private bathroom attached to your room, put your alarm there. This makes the decision of pressing Snooze or getting in the shower easier.
2. Calculate the latest time that you could possible get up. This would normally be the time that you could not convinced yourself to hit Snooze again. Set your alarm clock for this time.
Lessons & tips: Even though you stay in bed for the same amount of time as before, avoiding the Snooze button allows for more REM sleep.
If desired, after one month of using this technique, start setting the alarm for an earlier time. Do not do this too early because it takes 21 days for a habit to form. In this case, this happen would be avoiding the Snooze button.
