How to study in Finland
How I did it: I have decided that the education internship I did in Lappeenranta qualifies as an achievement of this goal.
While I was not technically a student enrolled in a degree in a university in Finland, I did, in fact, study a bit of Nihongo while I was there.
But much more significant than studying is learning.
During my six months Finland, I learned, amongst many other things
- the basics of snowboarding, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing
- a bit of Finnish
- how to live by myself
- how to be more social
- how to save up and plan an InterRail trip
I would not hesitate to do this again. Perhaps the second time around I could actually enroll in a course. After all, there is a program I like in Jyväskylä.
Resources:
- an internship through AIESEC
- a place to live in during your stay (student housing, i.e.: LOAS, is perhaps your cheapest option)
- a network of people willing to teach you
- a teachable disposition
