How I did it: We booked a hotel I found in the 1er arr. Very basic but perfect for what we wanted, booked our flights online for very little money, packed our bags & the kids & drove to the airport.

When we arrived at CDG we got the Roissybus to the Opera which was right up the street from our hotel it was a 5 minute walk. :)

Lessons & tips: Research, you'll get a better deal and a better location doing it yourself, especially from the UK.
