"I did it! Yes!"
How I did it: I started running about 5 weeks before the race and got sick 10 days before and couldn't train, so I was thinking that maybe that happened because it would have been too soon for me to run a half so I wasn't going to do it. But then the evening before I decided to go for it anyway, since I had signed up already and there is no refund, so I was thinking that I don't have to finish if I can't or I can walk if I get really tired, which I did do a lot at the end but still finished the race in 2:27:22. :))) I was so happy to see that finish line! Even got emotional, but overall it was a really great experience.
Lessons & tips:
Just do it! Sometimes you don't know what you're capable of until you give yourself a chance, this race really showed me that.
Running is like life, when it gets hard, you just gotta keep going! Or in other words, when the going gets tough, the tough get going! :e)
Resources:
Kangen water! Surprisingly even the next day my muscles were not that sore, while they used to be pretty sore after my long training runs. I attribute this to starting drinking Kangen water. We even took it to the race even though they have water throughout the route. I think having it really helped me a lot. Visit waterhealthsolution.com to learn more about this water.
My husband! It's so much more fun to run with company. My husband ran with me and helped me in those moments when I was getting tired.
Be positive! I was repeating all sort of positive statements all throughout the race, I felt my energy increase when I switched from negetaive "I'm tired" "This is too hard" to positive "I CAN DO IT! YES I CAN!" "This is cool this is fun and I'm smiling with the sun" Really helps :e)
