How to get my laptop fixed
How I did it: It turned out my laptop was not worth trying to fix. At least not at the place I took it. They "fixed" the problem, a loose connector. And they completely decimated the thing otherwise. It couldn't connect to the internet anymore, it didn't recognize it's own wireless card or modem and so I couldn't find the drivers (it was not a name brand) after reloading it. In the end, the whole thing was a huge waste of money and the aforementioned laptop is a very expensive brick.
Lessons & tips: Buy a brand name laptop so you can at least send it to be fixed by people who might actually fix it for your money!
Resources: The internet? Once the laptop was decimated I used college graduation present money to buy an excellent new ultraportable one.
