"Fracken Finally!"
How I did it: I have been wanting to quit for a long time and have always found myself in high-stress situations. I was close to quitting but started working in a funeral home- burying people is stressful, working with the living to bury the dead was even more stressful. Now I'm in the movie industry where everyone seems to smoke and you have long days of getting a movie made - more stress.
I just went off to Yellowstone for a week and decided to have a go at it again. I got a pack of nicoderm patches, started at step one and left my cigarettes at home. I was away from normal situations and I was relaxed, hiking in the wilderness. When I got back I had a cold which helped me again to not smoke. So far I've gone almost three weeks. I have no intentions of smoking a cigarette, I'm on step two and still have the pack of cigarettes.
I have a crazy amount of energy and I'm losing weight. Probably because if I sit still for too long I'll be bored and want to smoke... but my house is getting cleaner.
Lessons & tips: I suggest leaving your normal situation and go on a vacation; it's the only thing that has worked for me.
Resources: NicoDerm Patches are my recommendation. I didn't smoke that many cigs in a day but I started with step one anyway.
