"Awesome!!!!!"
How I did it: I first went in Bali-Indonesia, really light rapids but good for a 1st time. My sister was glad she didnt get wet so the balinese guide threw her overboard.
I also went at Salta Rafting in Argentina, which was about 3grade rapids, again nothing crazy, few good runs, we managed to get stuck on a few boulders with another raft on top of us at one point! Our raft also had a dog in it..hilarious! the end was nice and relaxing and we jumped out and floated down the river
I next went to Banos in Ecuador a few weeks later, there i did the 4/5grade rapid, could see the difference straight away! I fell out in a 5grade rapid which was a bit freaky and the thought of death was there as you get pulled under the water and bashed into boulders, we also lost the guide and 2 others at one point, so 4 of us were left to rescue them all, luckily we also had 2 safety kayaks with us who save our guide and another friend and told us what to do! Go team extreme!!! Was a hell of a ride and i want to do it again!
Lessons & tips: Hold onto your oar and never let it go, they won't be happy, our guide lost his when he fell out and we waited down the river to see if it'd show up. Make sure you losten to your guide and follow the other guys in the boat, try to paddle at the same time and strength. Be aware or what's around you and keep your foot tucked under the seat in front so you're less likely to fall out. Be quick to grab your mate when they fall out.
Resources: The guides, they go through the guidelines and lingo before you go, do a bit of practice outside the water too. Also my ability to swim came into play on those large rapids!
