How to buy a new pair of glasses
How I did it: I've been wanting to do this for a long time, even before I wrote this goal back in January, 2007, but I put it off because I didn't want to spend the money. I had two pairs of old glasses and was wearing the newer of the two pairs because the prescription was current and they were lighter weight. One night maybe two months ago I went to bed and put the glasses on the night table. During the night I was woken by my cat flinging the glasses off the table. I was half asleep and decided to pick them up in the morning. The next morning they were gone and I never found them. They weren't in the immediate area, but if I spent time searching, I suppose I would have found them. I never found the time to devote to the search, and it was time to schedule my annual appointment anyway, so decided to go ahead and get the new pair. I found out my insurance reimburses at least part of the cost, but I still don't know how much. I hope the majority because I spent over $500 on them and I don't know how long it will take to be reimbursed. I figured I should go ahead and get them though while I have an insurance plan that will cover at least part of it, so I decided there was no better time than now to get them. So now I have a nice pair of glasses, and yes, I got the transitions glasses (part of the reason they were so expensive). If I ever feel like wearing glasses instead of contacts, these are the glasses to do so with (my last pairs, especially the older pair were really for home only because they weren't so nice).
Lessons & tips: Get glasses if you need them. If you already have a pair of glasses that work, wait til you have the money to buy the new pair. Glasses are expensive! Take your time finding frames that look good on you.
