"Best Choice Ever!"

How I did it: I came to see the game for its nihilistic,  self... it was pointless. After tallying the hours spent playing the game (almost a month of my life) I took steps to separate myself from the game. (see below)
The last stroke was a couple weeks ago when blizzard announced its new expansion and the changes that were coming. I've been clean for 5 months and still have cravings here and there but they're less frequent and less intense then a few months ago.

Lessons & tips: This is what I did to get away:
1. KEEP YOURSELF OCCUPIED WITH OTHER THINGS! Fill the time hole with other things
2. Expect cravings and plan accordingly with how your going to deal with the cravings.
3. Go out with friends. Rediscover how good it is to interact in reality.
4. Get perspective on what you lost during the time you played WOW- The game features a command that lets you tally the time played with your toon, Weigh yourself, look at your grades... anything that will give you perspective of what you lost can be used as motivation.

Excellent!!

Fantastic! I don’t have a game console myself (because I slightly tend towards addiction…) and spoke with a friend today who said she was considering getting a PS. I said, ’ then you’re not gonna get anything else in your life done, you know that, right?’. I remember how much time I used to spend in front of a game and it was all I could think of even when I wasn’t playing it!!! Terrible, really.
Like everything else, too much of it just isn’t good. And sometimes it might be best not to have that stuff in your house at all.
Breaking this kind of addiction is a true accomplishment! And 5 months is a long time! This is great, hold on to the great feeling! Keep it!
