How I did it: I do Postcrossing so I get the opportunity to send postcards to a lot of different people all around the world. Some people write on their profiles that they would like to have pen pals. I usually asked these people if they'd like to pen pal, and I also wrote that I would like to find pen pals on my own profile. Well, it took a while with some people agreeing to write but never doing it, but I did get the three pen pals I was seeking to complete this goal. : )
