How to be less judgemental
How I did it: Therapy and a lot of introspection. In the end I realized that my judgmental attitude was a way to compensate for insecurities I had about myself. Im not 100% non-judgemental yet but compared to 5 years ago (I took this goal seriously about 3 years ago) it feels like it :D.
Lessons & tips: 1. Be honest with yourself. Are you really judging a person for something valid or is it coming from a sense of insecurity? Its a thin line between the two but over time you'll learn to distinguish between the two.
2. Take responsibility for your attitude. This goes hand in hand with number one. No one is making you act judgmental.
3. Intention. This is going to sound a bit fairy taley/New Agey but intention is a powerful thing. Something I did that you can try out to establish my intention is:
Close your eyes and imagine your gathering all your strength and tell yourself "I am serious about being less judgmental with people and will work on this no matter what I experience along the way". This also serves as a way to tell your unconscious what you wish to do. You'll be pleasantly surprised. This also goes hand in hand with number one in terms of realizing which side of the line your on.
