How I did it: Western Med cruise was a nightmare! We still managed to enjoy Malta, Florence and Nice but the rest was a total flop. I'm not sure I will ever cruise again. We had cruised in the summer of 2008 (eastern med) and it was such as success (with Celebrity Cruises) but this time everything seemed to turn out wrong: long lines in the sun to catch port shuttles, long lines for dinner (45 min to be seated), spanish kids jumping in the jacuzzy while attempting to murther their sister, "washy-wasy, happy-happy, smiley-smiley" greetings from the staff, cabin staff that would open your door without knocking...
Lessons & tips: I wouldn't choose to travel with NCL, they couldn't care less if we dropped dead in front of them.
