Great job! Very insightful comments. I am getting over my fear to drive as well. I have driven on the freeway twice so far (which isn’t a lot, but a big step up for me lol) Congrats on all your success.
How to conquer my fear of driving
How I did it: i took driving lessons 1-2 times per week with a private instructor for 45 minutes apiece for a span of about 3-4 months. i also went driving with my father every other week, who's tough on me and keeps me grounded in my driving flaws while still being supportive. doing really hard things, like merging onto a 4 lane highway, made the other things seem really easy. the more i did it, the more i felt secure... i used to think i could never look everywhere at once and it felt really overwhelming. i now have a better grasp of where my eyes should be on the road.
Lessons & tips: make sure your instructor is comfortable and supportive. don't keep an instructor who makes you feel uncomfortable! they help me feel more at ease behind the wheel.
Resources: my local driving school; i had two great instructors (had to switch halfway through).
