How I did it: I saved money, got a good deal on a hotel, economized but also ... made sure I could walk to the beach. Got to the hotel and basically stayed there. Also I went with someone else so that the costs of the trip, as well as the driving, was shared. I plan to go every summer from now on, it is going to be my reward for a year of hard work and saving money!
