How to try absinthe

How I did it: We made sugar water mixed drinks out of them, and they were still very strong, in both senses of taste and ability-to-get-u-drunk. The worst part was that for the next couple of months, all of the cups in our house smelled like stale absinthe.
My advice - do shots instead.
It'll get you drunk!
Lessons & tips: Get a big group of people together and do shots of it throughout the night. It'll get rid of it faster, so that you can move onto a better alcohol some other night. And you won't have that 3/4 full bottle sitting on the top of your fridge for the next six months.
