How I did it: I started typing my class notes in Lyx, a free Latex editor.  It is very easy to use, and it makes my notes look ALOT cleaner.  I threw out or donated anything that I do not use/touch in a 1 month period of time.

Lessons & tips: Also reading the "4-hour Work Week" helps.  It is an excellent book!
