How to do something nice for someone, anonymously
"I made a goal to do a random act of anonymous kindness for someone every day, and I've stuck to it for almost a month!"
How I did it: You have to remember and be in a good mood, but it's very worth it.
Tell yourself that someone in your life needs a little cheering up, and make it your responsibility to do it.
It is better to give than to recieve.
Give the gift of a smile and of happiness.
Lessons & tips:
- At Starbucks, hand the cashier twice what your drink cost. When he
hands back the money, say in a low tone, "Hang on to it and add it to
the bill of the person behind me." It will confuse the cashier but it
will make their day as well as the person behind you. - Write someone an anonymous note telling them how you admire them or
appreciate them. I've received 3 of these a few years ago and all 3 are
still taped up on my wall. - Smile at a stranger who looks like they're having a bad day. It
might not be completely anonymous, but heck, it makes their day anyway. - If you know a family that is struggling financially, leave them groceries on their doorstep.
- Leave flowers on someone's desk in the office, in their locker, on
their doorstep... wherever. Write them a nice poem on the card, but no
name.
