How I did it: I went with some friends and found an instructor named Alfredo at the hostel "Casa de Oro" in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
It cost us $20 for a one hour lesson which turned into a 3 hour lesson including transportation to the beach about 40 mins away. TOTALLY worth it!

Lessons & tips: My instructor was a middle-aged man from Peru. He told us that this was the first AND last lesson we would ever need to take. He told us that it's all about practice after initial instruction and that if you need any more instruction after your first, then you are wasting your money.
