How to develop a green thumb
How I did it: I was almost bullied into purchasing a plant for charity a year ago last week. Hark! The serendipity of it! Turns out Hoya hybrids are a kind of cactus which means she only needs to be watered quarterly and prefers full sun. I find it hard to provide her with full sun in the tundra here, but alas, we both muddle through ok with the help of indoor tanning.
Lessons & tips: I told Jeff that it was hard for me to have just the one plant. She requires so little compared to what I am eager to offer her. Jeff said "That's the way it is with one plant. if you get a bunch more they'll stop feeling like pets and start to feel more like a part of your environment." Wise guy, ay bub?
Resources: I waited almost half a year to repot her. The pot was a splurge from a junk shop.
