How to design my own tattoo
How I did it: I sat down and thought about people who had changed and/or saved my life in some fashion. I came up with my exgf, two exbfs and my current gf. I then started thinking of things that symbolized these people.
I came up with stars for my exgf (she had one on her wrist and I always refer to her as Moon strangely enough), music notes for one exbf (he's a musician and i love listening to him play the guitar), a dragon for my other exbf (he likes them) and a heart for my then current gf (she had my heart then and still has part of it today).
I then tried to find a way to incorporate all of those symbols into one design. I couldn't fit the dragon in- it just didn't look right. So I ended up with the music notes, a star and a heart. It turned out beautifully and I love that tattoo (it was my first).
I plan on getting the dragon done one day and also something for my best friends (three of them). I've already started planning those out in my head also.
Lessons & tips: Designing your own tattoo is a really good idea. You don't want your
tattoo to be just like everyone elses. It should be unique.
You should choose something that means something special to you.
