How to get my Tragus pierced
How I did it: me and my roomie decided when we got to college, away from our over
protective parents, that we would get piercings. She got her nose
pierced and i decided to get my tragus pierced. we found a piercing
place that had a piercer that was a member of the APP.
So we drove the hour to see Trent, the piercer. He let me pick out my
jewelry. I picked a blue curved barbell because he said it would heal
quicker than a hoop and be less likely to get bumped. He explained to
me that i need to clean it with sea salt a couple times a day and wash
it in the shower once a day with Provon soap. He had me lay down, he
cleaned the area, had me take a deep breath out and pushed the needle
through. It wasn’t bad at all. i was expecting it to be super painful
since i have a low pain tolerance. It really just hurt when he first
pushed the needle in. then he got the jewelry and put that in, which
hurt more than the actual piercing. it feels like someone pulling on
your tragus. He wiped off the little bit of blood that was there and it
was done! i love it. i’ve had it done for 2 days now and it still isn’t
sore other than when i clean it. i hardly even know it’s there!
Lessons & tips: Try not to think about the piercing too much. just concentrate on taking deep breaths. It helps relax your muscles.
Resources: i clean it with sea salt and hot water twice a day and Provon soap in the shower once a day
