How to get a tattoo
"A lifetime of pride for a moment of pain."
How I did it: I'd wanted a tattoo for a long time... but for about 10 years I hesitated. It took over five years to settle on a design I wouldn't grow tired of. I wanted a snake motif, but only after a trip to Prague (in the early 90's) did I finally know exactly what kind of a snake motif. I drew the design myself, after a house sign in Prague's Old Town, had it done one April afternoon in 1999 or thereabouts... and I haven't regretted any of it.
Lessons & tips: Don't have it done on a whim - and only use a good, reliable tattooist (one who sterilizes his/her instruments, uses gloves etc.). Shop around, visit places and listen to others who have done it.
