How to finish my independent study 20 pager
How I did it: Well, I did two approx. 30 page papers; the first I was assigned last fall semester, and the second was from last spring semester. I started to think along Thoreau's line "how vain it is to sit down to write when you have not yet stood up to live", and got very intellectual, started only thinking about being a European expatriate, and became a terrible student. Then I got a reality check: I moved back home, to my parents. After sleeping on a couch for a month and a half, having no intellectual stimulation, or any genuine conversations/moments with others, I have completely begun bugging out. I dont want to be a Port Huron-nite, working some crappy job with crappy people who dont care about life-- I want a rewarding job with all sorts of people who are so god damn bent on life that if theyre crappy its for a damn good reason. I want my life back, that's all. Oh, and yeah, I finished the papers, and I almost feel like crying-- school is officially over.
