How to learn to pole dance
How I did it: I have in no way mastered the art yet. I'm still working on a few advanced and intermediate moves, but I'm still going to write this goal off as accomplished.
I love pole dancing so much. I love that there is no right or wrong way to do it. Its a sport that allows for diversity and creativity. There can be as much grace, flexibility, strength, flow, etc as the dancer wants to put into it.
I bought a PS stage almost 2 years ago. I went with the stage because the house I was living in had vaulted ceilings. I had been wanting to learn for at least a year before I finally bought my own pole.
I taught myself a few easy basic moves. Then used a dvd from vertical fitness to learn a few other moves. Everything else I've learned watching videos on youtube.
When I moved into a place with normal ceilings I bought the xpole removable titanium pole. I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but its ok. My next pole will be a removable brass PS. I'd also like to try out a powder coated pole.
My second pole:

Lessons & tips: Always warm up.
Don't use lotion.
Grip aides can be helpful sometimes.
Don't get discouraged! Practice, practice, practice!
