How to read 20 new books
How I did it: There was never a time this year where I didn't already have a book in line to read after I was finished with my current selection, and that was always kind of key. That, and not choosing books that were overly long.
Yes, I have to admit that this year was all about quantity over quality, though that's not to say I read crappy books or anything, but I was so focused on hitting that 20-book mark that I turned to shorter novels like the Chronicles of Narnia series.
Still, if you wind up reading something sub-par, it's nice to have another book lined up so you can move on and forget about it afterward.
Lessons & tips: If you've got some time to kill, especially on a bus or during lunch, bring your book with you. Fifteen minutes a day helps immensely, especially if you can't stand sitting down and reading for two hours straight.
Resources: Books Inc. at Opera Plaza in San Francisco; it's right next door to where I work, and they have a great staff that hooks me up with 10% discounts. Love those guys!
