How to become Financially Independent

How I did it: Well, the 5 years I am counting from the time I turned 18. I went to college and had to take a lot of loans, and also loaned some money from my parents. But after graduating it only took me one year to save the money to pay my parents back, and now I am slowly but surely paying off my student loans. I count this as financially independent becuase I don#t need to borrow anything from anybody, and have the freedom to make my own choices without other people holding the strings. Definately a nice feeling!
