Cheers to you! I have always wanted to do this, especially since my mother was born in Italy. For some reason she never taught me how to speak the language :(
How to learn italian
"Era una cosa formidable "
How I did it: I had italian in hight school so it was great to be able to lear a language from scrap and have all the support. In Switzerland there is a part where people speak italian and it s easy to practice it, too. I wached italian TV and got used to the fast pace, too. Listen to italian songs from Gianna Nannini.
Lessons & tips: Ah it's wonderful to be in Italy and speak italian with all the friendly people. You can have a rather broken italian but with some words they will receive you with open arms. And beeing able to read the menu is an absolute plus!
Resources: Text books and lot's of grammar rules learnd out by hart. Weekle 2-4 lessons with homework. A teacher that made Italian lessons fun.
