How I did it: I've been thinking about doing this for YEARS now. I talked about it and wrote about it and dreamed about it. I love the charity that I chose to do it in aid of. I love music so it just seemed such a simple idea. A couple of years ago the venue knocked the idea off its rails. They wanted £1000 to hire the venue.

This year Tad spoke to the owners of our local live music venue on my behalf. It all began there. That was 3-4 weeks ago. They instantly agreed to let us have the venue for free on one of their quieter nights.

We then went to friends and bands we knew and managed to book three. There were egos battling for the headline spot. There were power struggles and I just let Tad argue it out with them.

I made tickets on my computer and printed them. I made posters and printed off online resources from them. I bought balloons and decorations from Asda outta my own pennies. It cost a grand total of £20 for me- including my own donation for my ticket. 

I made a facebook group and invited people along. I texted and phoned people to ensure they turned up.

Then on the night I pestered people to give up their cash, spare change or whatever they could afford.

I spread info about the charity!!!! It was AMAZING! And I'd do it ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!

Lessons & tips: Never give up. It will be worth it in the end!!!!
