How I did it: I walked up to a girl and introduced myself, then she she introduced me to her roomate, then her roomate introduced me to a friend of hers and before I knew it, I had seven new friends!

Lessons & tips: Try to be open to people and put yourself out there to be noticed. Even if you don't know how to start a conversation just find something you like about them and compliment it.
