How I did it: I spent a lot of time trying to engineer the exact right perfect sublime group. Then, one day at lunch, I was griping about my ongoing struggle with getting things done and bemoaning my lack of accountability, which had gotten worse since I ended my relationship with my marketing coach.
My friend promptly asked if I'd like to join their long-running group. I said I'd try it if they'd try me, and several months later, we're all getting along swimmingly. And getting things done!
Lessons & tips: If you're someone who tends to structure things tightly, try letting go. If you're someone who doesn't, try enforcing some rules and set a goal for yourself.
Also, having a timer to time each person really helps.
