How I did it: I started going to a swing dancing venue regularly. The Tapestry in Minneapolis is a great place to learn and practice. I joined the swing club at my school and learned a lot from that.

Lessons & tips: - The best way to learn to dance is to watch and then try it out. I got a lot of ideas and learned the feel of swing from watching better dancers. But just sitting and watching isn't enough. Work up the courage to ask someone to dance. At a swing dancing venue, your chances of being turned down are very small because everyone that's there paid to get in and dance.
- The really fun stuff happens when you learn the songs and know what's coming up and are able to fit your dancing to the rhythm.
