How to learn to make meshes in Sims 2

How I did it: My first attempt worked out well, it was a basic table but i end up replacing a maxis made table. After about a week or two i decided to follow the tutorial again and make a loveseat. It didn't replace anything and showed up perfectly fine but i must have meshed it wrong because there were a few things wrong. Extra pieces were they weren't suppose to be, and it sunk into the ground. I've realized what i did wrong and plan on redoing it.
Resources: Look for tutorials on MTS2. I used the Jwoods tutorial obn MTS2 for creating both my meshes. Be patient.
