How I did it: I went to school to study more about the area I'm interested in. This isn't always necessary but it's given me the background knowledge and confidence to make my first few sales and purchases.

Lessons & tips: Lots of paperwork and research and committing to getting it done. An organized home office (not just piles of paper everywhere) helps focus my mind too.

Resources: Local Small Business Administration. More helpful than I would have imagined. Gave a lot of good pointers.
