How to scuba dive at night by 952

"Night dive in a man-made lagoon, at Key West. Cool to experience bioluminescence for the first time!"

How I did it: I am becoming a dive master and instructor, and am early on in the program.  This was my first night dive.  The bioluminescence is well worth any apprehension one may have about being in the water at night.  What a beautiful experience!                                                                                                                                   

Lessons & tips: Be sure your flashlight works AND bring a backup(that works).

Very cool!

I took a marine biology course in the summer a few years ago, and we spent two weeks in Baja California snorkeling the Sea of Cortes. One night, we camped on one of the islands and did a night snorkel. That’s probably one of my favorite experiences ever. The sardines were blinded by our flashlights and kept swimming into our masks so there was this startling little * thunk * every few seconds. :)
