How I did it: I went on a tedious three week course.. but I could touch type at the end. We had tapes which increased in difficulty, when we finished a tape, we brought our typing to be checked.  If it was ok, we'd progress, if not we'd have to do it again.  Aargh.. but as I say, once it was over I could do it. 

Lessons & tips: If you can stand it, do like I did.  It works and you don't need any willpower to make sure you follow through..
