How I did it: I started with researching what exactly was necessary to have a happy, healthy betta.   Then I found it was necessary to wait until I could actually implement setting up a safe environment.

Lessons & tips: Research!  What your friend says about the proper care & needs of a betta might be just a myth!  2.5 gallons is the minimum suggested, not a tiny bowl!
