How to get an awesome music industry job
How I did it: Started an unpaid internship, with absolutely no idea about the music industry, or my place in it. Stayed. Getting paid close to nothing for the longest time. But now, things have progressed, and I'm a member of staff. Only a couple of days a week, but more in on the cards, I'm sure. I get to do posters, I deal with band management and bands from all over the world, I get free tickets to show and festivals. Can anyone say yay?
Lessons & tips: I stayed way longer than anyone I knew recommended. My friends and family told me I was being taken advantage of. And yes, in some ways I was, but there were circumstances involved, and I could see that if i stayed long enough, something would open up for me. And it did.
