How to run a mile
How I did it: I walked to the gym (so I was warmed up) and then I hopped on next to someone who was running so that I would be inspired. I did the mile in a little under twelve minutes, and yes that was with running the whole mile. I am glad I did this and hope to try again someday (soon.) I think I could shoot for the ten minute mile. I felt like quitting and walking a few times, but the fact that the treadmill had a TV on it did help. I think I felt like walking just because I’ve never really been “a runner.” Focusing on my breathing helped as did looking down at my feet (for some reason.) I can tell from my legs that it was a different sort of workout. I do cardio but not running, so this was something different. After all that, I walked home. :)
