How to play behind a waterfall.
How I did it: Went on a hike through "Waterfall Corner" of Yellowstone National Park. The Dunanda Falls hike is the one we spent the day hiking to. It is about 18 miles roundtrip, but was pretty easy and flat. The last little bit goes uphill to a beautiful outlook that you then have to hike down in order to get to the falls. It is steep, but you are so excited, you don't care. There are hot springs along the river, so if you get cold hiking behind the waterfall, you can warm up in the hot springs. It was like heaven!
Lessons & tips: Get someone who knows where they are going. Some of these places are pretty obscure to find. This one would be pretty easy to find because the trail is marked pretty well, and there are even camping areas if you don't want to do it all in one day.
Resources: You need to cross a couple rivers, so bring water shoes...very important also if you want to climb behind the waterfall. It was cold when we went, so dress accordingly. The hike back is long, but the memories last forever!
