How to buy a House
How I did it: I put an offer on a house we liked, the offer was accepted, but the seller took way too much time to get the house ready to close (it was a foreclosure) Since Wells Fargo was the seller, we went with them for the loan as well. That was a bad choice, since we had to endure Wells Fargo inconpetence from two sides, the lender and the seller. They didn't communicate between them. I frequently had to forward emails between Wells Fargo employees, and relay verbal messages.
Awful, awful experience.
Lessons & tips: My lender officer "forgot" to include the "locking rate cost" on his "good will" estimate. I had a final big surprise on the closing date.
I was so tired of dealing with them, that I just paid them whatever they wanted to get done with it.
Hope Wells Fargo will sell my mortgage soon, so I do not have to deal with them ever, ever, ever again.
