How I did it: you just get on.  it really is all that simple.  if you have a destination its a little trickier.  its really worth it but not for everyone.  dont be a douche.  find someone who knows what theyre doing to show you the ropes.  that can be the hardest part, seeing as most people hopping trains are wet-brained idiots.  i saw 30+ states and will never regret my 4 years out on the road.

Lessons & tips: research about general rules/courtesy for riders, dont trust newer crew changes.  dont be afraid to go to jail, a lot....
