How to go fishing
"Once the fish started biting, I understood fishing's exhilerating thrill."
How I did it: I got taken on a multi-day fishing trip with my part-time job. Which was cool since I'd been wanting to go out fishing for a while, but didn't know many people who went out fishing.
We did it in style too, top of the North Island and I caught snapper and kahawai, which are great game fish.
One of the guys caught a massive yellow tail kingfish which we put in a rockpool.
When our guide threw some burly (fish bait) off the rocks I just couldn't believe the amount of fish that responded, all different colors, shapes and sizes.
Lessons & tips: Get some experience before you go on a hard-out multi-day trip, know how to:
- knot
- cast
- reel
- undo the hook from that massive fish.
