How to donate blood
"By donating blood, its guaranteed that it was given to someone who needs it more then I do. And that is completely worth it for me."
How I did it:
- Went to a high school blood donation event.
- Gave them my ID, and birth certificate.
- Took a test testing me for any possible diseases.
- Lied down.
- Got pricked.
- Laid bored for like 17 minutes.
- Got up too early and almost fainted (Drink the coke or snacks! It helps!)
- Walked away smiling.
Lessons & tips:
- After you donate to the Red cross, be sure to sign up for their newsletter. That way, you can get a calendar in the mail telling you the month's places to donate.
- Sometimes, places give you extra things like coupons or tshirts, which is always nice.
- Make sure you weigh 110 plus- the more weight the better, because if your a lighter person, it makes you light headed. Its very important.
- Give blood again if you feel comfortable with your experience, but don't rule out going again if you get queasy or nauseous. This doesn't happen every time you give blood.
