How to buy a bike
How I did it: I went to a local garage sale near my neighborhood and went browsing at various people's "shops." I came across and few with bikes and I saw one that fit my size perfectly. We got the tires pumped at a local gasoline station. It was cheap and worth it! I used that bike over the summer and my legs got stronger haha.
Before going to the garage sale i would look on craigs list, but since I can't drive, that wasn't optimal for me. If you're going to get one from craigslist, make sure that you know what size you want - so get fitted for a bike in a bike shop! Getting fitted is free! (Although I haven't done that yet)
Lessons & tips: If you're not looking to participate in a marathon, shopping around at your local yard sale is the best way to go. If you do, I would suggest going to a legitimate bike shop :P. My yard sale bike cost me 12 bucks!
Resources: Keep on the look out for yard-sale signs.
Bike shop - if you want a legit bike, but also to get fitted
Gasoline Station - to pump up the tires from your yard-sale bike.
