How I did it: We drove from Tucson, AZ to San Diego, CA and then up to Hollywood.....We stayed at the Holiday Inn on the walk of Fame. FYI Good area to stay and a quick walk. We only stayed two days...Night life was expensive. 9 dollars for a shot at 4 different places we went to. Best place was a pub called the Cat and Fiddle...British place. Great prices and stayed open late. Make sure to get your drunken mid nite snack at Mel's Dinner. Don't waste your time with the Hollywood sign. Even at the observatory its extremely far away.

Lessons & tips: Be careful where you stay...some areas can be very ruff. Don't expect anyone to give you directions because they expect money if they even know where you are talking about. And when someone begs you to take a picture with them they still want your money.
