How to get a digital SLR camera

How I did it: A birthday gift for my 18th year, with compromise thrown in: I paid half, the gift giver paid the other half. I had already saved up a good amount within that year so I was able to pay my half.
Voila.
Lessons & tips: Save up a hell of an amount of moolah.
