How to find a job in Edinburgh
How I did it: I basically just applied and applied and applied. I had my mum helping me out with my CV and giving me advice about how to approach prospective employers.
I applied online for Vue cinema, got an interview and got the job. It was a new experience for me, because the other two jobs I had didn't require interviews, I was just given a couple of days to try it out. I was really nervous but it was fine.
The waiting for the call was the worst part >.<
Lessons & tips: Just keep at it. I was lucky to find a job in such a short space of time (the advantages of living in a student city and it being so close to Christmas).
Have a good CV too; even if you've not done very much, emphasise your drive to learn. I drew a lot of attention to my work as a street team rep and to my involvement in things at college.
Resources: My mum. They're pretty invaluable y'know! Not only for helping me out with my CV and putting up with my defeatist attitude two weeks into the search, but for sending me money to see me through.
