How to read the Kama Sutra
How I did it: I originally wanted to read the Kama Sutra because of all the hype it gets. A lot of miniature books tote around the title ‘kama sutra’ and are mostly just about sex. This is incredibly misleading, since the Kama Sutra is so much more than just a sex manual; it’s also a social commentary on proper behavior of the time period. If you are interested in the sexual portion, I'd strongly suggest getting an illustrated version, as the directions (depending on which translation you read) can be difficult to understand sometimes. The version I read was “The Kama Sutra Of Vatsyayana: Sir Richard Burton, Translator”, which is out of copyright; thus available for free at http://www.sacred-texts.com/sex/kama/index.htm . Another decent translation, in my opinion is “The Complete Kama Sutra : The First Unabridged Modern Translation of the Classic Indian Text” translated by Alain Daniélou.
Lessons & tips: Since there is a lot to take in, I'd suggest taking the time to read it in pieces to take it all in. -I honestly can't remember how long it took me since it was over a year ago.-
